We are pleased to have approved funding for four projects as part of our 2018-2019 granting program:
West Kootenay BMX Racing will be able to make improvements to its track, located at the Salmo Ski Hill, and purchase technology upgrades to help with program administration.
The Salmo Valley Farmers’ Market will once again be able to provide a stipend to its market manager, helping to reduce the demands placed on volunteers.
Salmo Secondary School students are working in partnership with the Salmo Public Library to build and enhance the collection of First Nations materials. As part of their studies, students have been able to work with the Library Director to assess the existing collection and research and select materials that should be added.
Salmo Secondary School is working to equip the school foyer to serve as technologically up-to-date space for community performances and events. The SVF is helping to purchase seating as part of this project
We were pleased to see that several new groups applied for funding this year; it is our mission to serve as broad a section of our communities as possible. Our next granting session will take applications throughout October, 2019.
